Any Business follows typically a cycle from Sales Order Receipt to Dispatch and then After Sales Service.
When we look at all these business processes, fundamentally there are three things moving across
departments:
- Information
- Material
- Information & Material
Typically, when we do such project, the project runs through below phases: -
1. Requirement Gathering
Overall Study of AS-IS processes are conducted with each process owner to understand current
way of working. This Phase helps in identifying process gaps and current way of working. This is
an Extensive phase to understand how your current processes are executed. We identify process
gaps and note down possible improvements.
2. Final Process Mapping
Processes are mapped according to world-wide standard and specific to customer requirements.
Documents are identified and formats are discussed and finalized. A detailed Business Blueprint
Document is submitted which includes all the process charts with clear process owners.
Pre-ERP Implementation Support
We can also extend this project as a support to ERP Implementation. From our experience, we see
without above steps followed even world-class ERPs fail to deliver results. The main reasons are: -
- Failure to setup realistic expectations
- Resistance of Employees
- Lack of commitment by key stakeholders
- Lack of competent Project managers
- Failure to align/modify business processes
- Team not aware of standard protocols like approvals, security may result in wastes
- Direct Go-Live after training is a disaster
We will take part in actual testing of the process before GO-LIVE and make sure each scenario of working
is mapped within ERP so as to have clearly defined procedures to follow with integration in ERP.
BUSINESS PROCESS RE-ENGINEERING (BPR)
As the name indicates, your established processes can also be reviewed to identify GAPs if any. The
processes sometimes are followed blindly which can result in either gaps or repeated data or missing
information. We go to the root of the problem and see where we can improve the process.
